Our client is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Manager to lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, driving supplier performance, containment activities and quality improvements across a complex, low-volume manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on quality professional with strong leadership experience within the automotive sector.
Position Overview
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers.
- Manage supplier containment, controlled shipping (CSL1/CSL2) and supplier recovery activities.
- Act as the escalation point for critical supplier quality issues.
- Ensure robust containment plans are implemented to protect production.
- Drive supplier corrective actions using 8D, 5 Whys and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Monitor supplier KPIs including PPM, quality escapes and corrective action performance.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Programme teams to minimise disruption.
- Provide regular reporting on supplier performance and recovery plans.
- Support supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years' experience within Supplier Quality, Supplier Development or Supplier Quality Assurance.
- Previous experience managing or leading Supplier Quality teams.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, GD&T, 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience managing supplier containment and recovery activities including CSL1 & CSL2.
- Background within Automotive, Motorsport, OEM, Tier 1 or advanced manufacturing.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Remuneration
- £33.00 - £36.00 per hour (Inside IR35)
