Bennett & Game are representing a growing civil engineering and water infrastructure contractor based in Somerton, Somerset.
The firm specialises in water and wastewater infrastructure, delivering projects such as pipelines, drainage systems, water treatment works and associated concrete structures.
Project values range from £2million to £10million across the South West and Hampshire.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial management across water and civil engineering projects.
- Prepare estimates, tenders, quotations and cost plans.
- Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Manage applications for payment, valuations and variations.
- Prepare and manage NEC early warnings and compensation events.
- Produce cost reports, forecasts and CVRs.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
- Work closely with site teams, project managers and the Commercial Manager.
- Attend sites across the South West and Hampshire approximately two to three days per week.
- Support projects from tender stage through to completion.
- Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or QS / Estimator in the water, utilities or civil engineering sectors.
- Strong background in water and wastewater, drainage, pipelines or utilities.
- Good knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
- Experience managing live civil engineering projects.
- Experience with applications for payment, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost‑management ability.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Comfortable travelling to sites across Somerset, Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and Hampshire.
- Based within a commutable distance of Somerton.
- Full UK driving licence.
