Accounts Senior Job Responsibilities Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships Preparing corporation tax returns Preparing personal tax returns Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, depending on experience Preparing management accounts Completing accounts and tax work from client records through to draft stage Identifying queries and communicating directly with clients to resolve them Carrying out bookkeeping and accounting adjustments where required Reviewing bookkeeping records before accounts preparation Helping clients with Xero and other cloud accounting software Liaising with HMRC and Companies House where required Keeping clear records, notes and actions within our practice management system Managing your own workload and deadlines Supporting junior and trainee team members as your experience develops Working closely with Client Managers and Directors on more complex assignments Accounts Senior Job Requirements AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified, recently qualified, or able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience Experienced in preparing year-end accounts within an accountancy practice Comfortable preparing corporation tax returns and personal tax returns Familiar with VAT and bookkeeping Comfortable dealing directly with clients Organised and able to manage deadlines Keen to continue developing technically Positive, team-focused and willing to help others Comfortable with Xero and cloud accounting technology Accounts Senior Salary & Benefits Paying dependent on experience, from £35,000-£50,000 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays Your birthday off Christmas closure, in addition to your normal holiday allowance Hybrid working after 6 month probation Flexible working hours Commission for bringing in new work Commission for identifying additional services for clients Christmas profit share Paid CPD Paid professional subscriptions, where relevant to the role Study support by agreement Pension contribution Free tea and coffee Free on-site parking, with additional parking nearby Paid team social events Casual dress Direct access to the Directors Weekly check-ins and informal one-to-ones Clear progression opportunities towards Senior Accountant and, ultimately, managing your own client portfolioBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
