Job Overview
Design Engineer required to produce manufacturing drawings with AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor for a well-established sheet metal manufacturer based in central Birmingham.
Key responsibilities:
- Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to create manufacturing/fabrication drawings for the workshop.
- Liaise with the manufacturing team to ensure drawings are understood and interpreted correctly.
- Produce 2D fabrication and weldment drawings.
- Log CAD files onto the system and create Bill of Materials (BoMs).
Requirements
- Experience with AutoCAD and 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Based in a commutable distance of Central Birmingham.
- At least 2+ years of experience in a Design Engineering role.
- Understanding of metal fabrication / sheet metal design is a distinct advantage.
- Good communication skills.
- IT literate.
Remuneration
- Starting salary £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour working week.
- Flexible start & finish times upon completion of probationary period.
- 31 days holiday including bank holidays.
