Ecological Consultant / Senior Ecological Consultant - Remote Location: Remote - West Midlands, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Salary: Β£30,500 - Β£42,000 DOE + Paid Overtime Job Type: Full-time Our client, a leading natural environment consultancy with over 30 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Ecological Consultant or Senior Ecological Consultant to join their growing team. This position can be offered on a fully remote basis, with home working for report writing, project management and other desk-based responsibilities. Candidates will need to be located within reasonable travelling distance of the West Midlands, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire, as fieldwork and site visits will take place throughout these regions. The successful candidate will manage and deliver a varied portfolio of ecological projects, including habitat surveys, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, ecological reporting and mitigation design. Fully remote working for desk-based duties, including reporting and project management. Managing and delivering ecological consultancy projects from initial survey through to reporting and mitigation. Undertaking UK Habitat Classification (UKHab) surveys and assessments. Completing Biodiversity Net Gain assessments using the Defra Biodiversity Metric. Undertaking baseline ecological surveys. Producing high-quality ecological reports and supporting documentation. Designing ecological mitigation and enhancement measures for planning and development projects. Managing project workloads, programmes and deadlines. Liaising directly with clients, colleagues and wider project teams. Supporting the wider ecology team and contributing to the continued growth of the consultancy. Competency undertaking UK Habitat Classification surveys and assessments. Experience completing Biodiversity Net Gain assessments using the Defra Biodiversity Metric. Strong ecological report-writing experience. Strong project management and workload management skills. Good understanding of ecology within the planning and development process. Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel for fieldwork and site visits throughout the relevant region. Protected species survey licences would be advantageous but are not essential. Valid CSCS card would be advantageous but is not essential. Fully remote working available. Flexible working arrangements.
