The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of clients and will be involved in a broad range of accountancy and taxation work, with accounts production acting as a key part of the position. Whether you are studying towards professional qualifications or bringing a positive attitude, the focus is on your ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate strong organisational skills, and develop your knowledge of digital accounting. Trainee Accountant Job Responsibilities * Accounts Production: Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Preparation of working papers and supporting schedules. * Client Interaction: Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries. Building and maintaining strong client relationships through face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, and other day-to-day contact. * Taxation & Compliance: Assisting with personal and business tax work. Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements. * Systems & Administration: Working with bookkeeping and cloud accounting systems. Assisting with other general accountancy and compliance work as required. * Portfolio Development: Developing your own portfolio and level of responsibility as your experience grows. Trainee Accountant Requirements * Possesses relevant practical accounts production experience. * AAT Level 3 or Level 4 qualified or studying, or a graduate with relevant practical experience. * Comfortable communicating directly with clients, both face-to-face and over the telephone. * Demonstrates good organisational skills and attention to detail. * Confident using accounting software and willing to develop their knowledge of digital accounting and MTD. * Brings a positive attitude and is keen to learn and progress. * Can work both independently and as part of a team.
