Bennett & Game Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a well-established and reputable civil engineering contractor, based in Brackley, Northamptonshire, who are looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support projects across South Oxfordshire and the surrounding regions. Our client delivers high-quality civil engineering solutions to the residential sector, specialising in roads, drainage, and groundworks across a diverse portfolio of housing developments, ranging from small schemes to large-scale projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer to take ownership of key site engineering responsibilities while working within a supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting out for all aspects of works with a high level of accuracy
  • Overseeing and managing the technical delivery of projects on site
  • Utilising modern surveying equipment (e.g. GPS, Total Stations)
  • Interpreting and working from technical drawings, including CAD
  • Ensuring works are carried out in line with specifications and design requirements
  • Liaising effectively with clients, subcontractors, and site teams
  • Reviewing and updating drawings and technical information as required
  • Maintaining accurate as-built records
  • Assisting with earthworks calculations
  • Providing technical guidance and resolving on-site challenges
  • Ordering materials and managing take-offs
  • Monitoring and promoting health & safety standards on site
  • Supporting the adoption process of roads and sewers with relevant authorities
Requirements
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline
  • Proven experience in a Site Engineer role within civil engineering or groundworks
  • Strong setting out and surveying capabilities
  • Working knowledge of CAD and relevant engineering software
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Full UK driving licence
