Please note this role is for a Planner but our client is open to candidates who are looking to move into Pre-Construction. Bennett and Game are working in partnership with a long-standing, family-owned construction company that has built a strong reputation over the last 45 years. Specialising in concrete frames, groundworks, enabling works, and large basement structures, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Planner to join their Pre-Construction team, following the planned retirement of a valued colleague. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a financially robust and forward-thinking business that has grown organically through reinvestment—not borrowing.
Working directly with senior decision-makers, the successful candidate will play a key role in tender planning, helping to shape construction methodologies and deliver accurate, high-quality programme submissions.
The Role: As Planner, you will support both the tender and pre-construction stages of complex projects, many of which are delivered for Tier 1 Main Contractors and Developers across London and the Home Counties. The projects often include structural elements such as demolition, piling, utilities, and external works.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed programmes for groundworks, concrete frames, basements, and related activities.
- Collaborate closely with estimators and project delivery teams to determine optimal sequencing and methodology.
- Contribute to the bid process, preparing planning documentation and supporting tender submissions.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate planning strategies and delivery timelines.
- Use Asta Powerproject to produce and manage programmes (training available for candidates with relevant experience transitioning into Pre-Construction roles).
About You:
- Proven planning experience in the construction or civil engineering sector—ideally with exposure to concrete frames and groundworks.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and logistics.
- Experience working on tenders or live project planning (Pre-Construction planning experience is desirable but not essential).
- Competent with planning software—experience with Asta Powerproject is ideal (training can be provided).
- Clear and confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, estimators, and operational teams.
