The Junior Welder / Fabricator position is required in Talaton, Exeter for our client, a manufacturing business specialising in metal fabrication. The successful candidate will work as part of a small workshop team carrying out MIG and TIG welding, preparing tube sections and supporting the fabrication of components using workshop machinery.
Junior Welder / Fabricator Job Overview
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding on fabricated metal components
- Cut and deburr tube sections to the required specifications
- Operate a CNC bending machine as part of the fabrication process
- Work with N plates and other fabricated components
- Read and follow basic technical information and measurements where required
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure components are produced accurately
- Work safely and maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
Junior Welder / Fabricator Job Requirements
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding
- Previous experience within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Ability to cut and deburr tube sections accurately
- Experience using workshop machinery, ideally including CNC bending equipment
- Good practical and mechanical aptitude
- Junior candidates with a relevant background within the industry will be considered
- Experienced welders / fabricators are also encouraged to apply
- Exhaust fabrication experience would be advantageous
Junior Welder / Fabricator Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £14.00 - £16.00 per hour, dependent on experience
- Working hours: 07:00 - 15:30, Monday to Friday
- Overtime: Available occasionally at time and a half, but not guaranteed
- Standard holiday entitlement
- Pension scheme
- Salary review after 3 months, subject to performance
