My client is a well-established mechanical engineering contractor specialising in the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial steam, process pipework and mechanical systems across a wide range of industrial sectors. They are looking to recruit an experienced Pipefitter Welder to join their team on a self-employed CIS basis.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both pipefitting and pipe welding, be confident working from engineering drawings, and have experience installing carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework within industrial environments.
Position Overview
- Installation and fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework
- Pipefitting duties including measuring, cutting, aligning and assembling pipe systems
- TIG and MMA welding of process and steam pipework to a high standard
- Installation of flanged, threaded and welded pipe systems
- Working on steam systems, plant rooms, boiler houses and other industrial mechanical installations
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and isometric drawings
- Carrying out site installation, maintenance and shutdown works across customer sites
- Working safely in accordance with site health & safety procedures
Position Requirements
- Previous experience as a Pipefitter Welder within industrial or mechanical engineering environments
- Competent in both pipefitting and pipe welding
- Experience welding carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework using TIG and MMA processes
- Ability to read and work from engineering and isometric drawings
- Experience with steam, process or mechanical services pipework is highly advantageous
- Welding qualifications such as BS EN ISO 9606 or ASME IX would be beneficial
- CSCS card and IPAF/PASMA advantageous but not essential
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Based within a commutable distance of Bristol
Position Remuneration
- £33.00 - £38.00 per hour (CIS Self-Employed)
- Monday to Friday - 50 hour week
- Potential for the role to become permanent long term
- Regular overtime available
