An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented Part II Architectural Assistant to join an award-winning residential developer based in Sale, Manchester. The practice has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality listed building conversions alongside bespoke new-build residential developments, with around 100 projects undertaken each year.

Joining a close-knit architectural team of approximately 10 professionals, the successful Part II Architectural Assistant will play a key role in the early design and planning stages of a diverse range of residential schemes. This position offers excellent exposure to planning, heritage projects and bespoke design, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a supportive in-house design team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of residential developments, including listed building conversions, bespoke new-build homes and heritage-led regeneration projects. The role offers excellent exposure to planning, heritage conservation, residential design and collaboration with local authorities and communities.

Part II Architectural Assistant Overview
  • Assist in developing concept designs, feasibility studies and planning proposals across a range of residential developments.
  • Contribute to projects across RIBA Stages 0-4, supporting the progression from concept through to planning approval.
  • Coordinate with internal Technical, Commercial, Sales and Construction teams throughout the design process.
  • Undertake site surveys and regular site visits.
  • Attend meetings with local authorities, consultants and senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain organised project documentation and drawing records.
Part II Architectural Assistant Position Requirements
  • RIBA Part II qualified (Barch & March)
  • Good knowledge using either AutoCAD or Revit
  • Strong design and presentation skills supported by a high-quality portfolio
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Previous experience working on residential projects would be beneficial
  • Experience with listed buildings or heritage projects would also be advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport preferred due to site visits
