Our client is a well-established, multi-office accountancy practice providing a range of accountancy, audit and taxation services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Due to continued requirements within their Corporate department, they are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their team. The role offers a varied workload across audit, accounts and taxation, with responsibility for supporting junior team members and working closely with the Portfolio Manager.
Role Overview
- Assist the Portfolio Manager with the management and delivery of client assignments.
- Plan and lead audits, working with a mixed team or independently where appropriate.
- Ensure audit plans and programmes are followed and liaise with the Audit Manager regarding on-site work.
- Monitor and assist audit trainees throughout assignments.
- Review and prepare accounts as required.
- Prepare tax returns and ensure submissions are completed within relevant deadlines.
- Monitor control files and report progress to the Portfolio Manager.
- Attend client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
- Train Accounts trainees and monitor their progress.
- Assist with staff allocations, billing and monitoring work in progress.
- Assist clients with accounting software and computer-related queries.
- Correspond with clients and external agencies, including HMRC.
- Provide wider support to the accounts and audit team as required.
Role Requirements
- Previous accountancy practice experience with a strong audit background.
- Experience planning and leading audit assignments.
- Good knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
- Experience supervising or training junior staff.
- Strong communication, organisational and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification/studies advantageous, although relevant experience will be considered.
Salary & Benefits
- £34,000 - £39,000, dependent on experience.
- Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
- Friday early finish between 3:00pm - 5:00pm, subject to weekly hours being completed.
- 20 - 25 days' holiday + bank holidays, dependent on level.
