Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Agricultural Service Technician to join their team. This role focuses on maintaining, servicing, and repairing modern agricultural machinery - particularly tractors - across Norwich and the surrounding Norfolk area. You'll work independently, travelling directly from home or the workshop to customer sites, supported by a well-established depot for parts collection and technical support.

Role Overview

  • Diagnose, service, and repair agricultural tractors, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Carry out computer-based diagnostics on modern machinery; equipment and software provided.
  • Travel to customer sites across Norfolk, typically starting the day from home.
  • Return to the depot as required to collect parts and prepare for upcoming jobs.
  • Participate in occasional on-call and weekend work due to the nature of the agricultural industry.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, professionalism, and accuracy in reporting.

Requirements

  • Ideally experience working on Case tractors (advantageous but not essential).
  • Background in agricultural, plant, forklift, HGV, or similar mechanical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge in hydraulics, electrics, or mechanical systems.
  • Confident carrying out diagnostics, including computer-based troubleshooting.
  • Must be computer-literate due to the use of diagnostic software.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Own tools required (vehicle, laptop, phone, and specialist tools provided).

Salary & Benefits

  • Hourly rate £18-£22, dependent on experience.
  • Standard hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (42.5 hrs/week).
  • 39 hours paid at basic rate; additional 5 hours built-in overtime at 1.5x.
  • Further overtime paid at time and a half. Double time on Sundays.
  • £50 call-out fee for evenings, weekends, and unscheduled work.
  • Company van for work travel (not for personal use).
  • Full technical training provided, including specialist brand systems.
  • Wide customer base across Norfolk, offering varied and rewarding daily work.
