Our client is a well-established UK property consultancy with a strong national presence and an expanding technical services division. They are seeking an experienced Associate Director - Building Surveying to lead and grow their Building Surveying offering across the North East. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor with a strong commercial mindset who is looking to take on a key leadership role within a respected consultancy.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing the regional Building Surveying service, generating new business, strengthening client relationships and supporting the growth of the team.

Job Overview
  • Lead the growth and development of the Building Surveying service across the North East.
  • Drive business development activities to increase the consultancy's market presence and secure new instructions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients across public and private sector markets.
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue through cross-selling and expanding service lines.
  • Deliver a varied portfolio of professional and project-based Building Surveying instructions.
  • Undertake and oversee services including contract administration, dilapidations, technical due diligence, defect diagnosis and building pathology.
  • Support the recruitment, mentoring and development of Building Surveyors as the regional team expands.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to implement growth plans and strengthen the consultancy's position within the North East market.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest professional standards.
Job Requirements
  • MRICS qualified (essential).
  • Significant experience within a Building Surveying consultancy environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge across both professional and project-based Building Surveying services.
  • Proven experience in business development and generating new work.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Commercially minded with an interest in growing a regional service line.
  • Previous experience mentoring or managing surveyors would be advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
