Assembly technician required to join a well-established Engineering company that is based in the Bedford area. The successful candidate will be assisting with the assembling of mechanical parts, using a variety of tools and equipment making wall brackets, wall boxes and wiring enclosures.
Job Overview- Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble products
- Use of variety of handheld tools
- Maintain inventory of product and parts in workstations
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and share with team lead
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Proficient in the use of hand tools
- Enthusiasm and interest in engineering and manufacturing
- Knowledge of materials, ability to distinguish types
- Previous experience in manufacturing/engineering environment advantageous, but transferable skills will be considered
- 42.4 hour week M-F, 7-4pm or 8-5pm (candidate preference)
- Salary - £26,000 - £30,000 (DOE)
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
- Pension scheme - paying 8% following a 3-month probation completion
- Overtime available Saturdays
