About the Role
An established accountancy practice is seeking a Year-End Accounts professional to join their Lichfield office. This role involves taking ownership of a portfolio of clients as their primary contact for year-end accounting and corporation tax needs. Working alongside two Senior Accountants and supported by junior staff, this position offers an ideal opportunity to manage key client relationships and guide trainees.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients, managing the overall relationship and day-to-day year-end queries.
- Core Technical Delivery: Responsible for the preparation and completion of year-end accounts and corporation tax returns.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with internal teams handling VAT returns, payroll, and bookkeeping duties.
- Team Development: Support and mentor junior staff, trainees, and apprentices in the office.
- Senior Liaison: Work directly alongside two Senior Accountants within the Lichfield structure.
Requirements
- Practice Experience: Solid grounding within a UK accountancy practice focused on year-end financial statement preparation and tax compliance.
- Client Relationship Skills: Ability to build strong relationships as a primary client contact.
- Communication & Mentorship: Strong interpersonal skills to guide junior colleagues and collaborate across teams.
- Working Style: Willingness to work office-based initially during onboarding, transitioning to an agreed set-day hybrid arrangement.
Salary & Benefits
- Holiday Allowance: 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays (Holiday year runs May to April). Extra day of leave per year of service after 2 years.
