Location: Leicester / Nottingham area Salary: £38,000-£40,000, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Employment Type: Permanent About the Role We are looking for an experienced Forklift Engineer to join a well-established and growing family-run material handling business. The company is looking for a good, reliable engineer with solid experience who wants to join a friendly team and build a long-term career within the business. There are opportunities for Mobile Forklift Engineers across the Leicester, Nottingham and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults. Work on electric, diesel and LPG equipment. Carry out planned servicing and maintenance. Complete service reports and paperwork. Maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues. Keep tools, vehicles and equipment clean and well maintained. Work safely and follow company procedures. Workshop Engineer Based at the company's North Nottinghamshire / Mansfield-area workshop. The work is mainly planned and booked in advance, with engineers carrying out servicing, repairs and fault-finding on a range of forklift equipment. Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm with a one-hour break. Mobile Engineer Covering customers across the Leicester, Nottingham, Peterborough and wider Midlands areas. The majority of work is planned and pre-booked, with occasional breakdowns when required. Mobile engineers receive 30 minutes of paid travel time each day, with additional standby and overtime opportunities available. About You Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Material Handling Engineer or similar. Good mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge. Experience with electric, diesel and LPG equipment. Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Able to work independently. Good communication skills. Reliable and professional approach to work. Takes pride in producing good-quality work.Engineers from heavy plant, agricultural machinery, powered access, HGV or automotive backgrounds may also be considered where they have relevant transferable experience. Package & Benefits £38,000-£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience. Monday to Friday working hours. 30 minutes paid travel time per day for mobile engineers. Standby opportunities after probation. Double-time overtime when called out on standby. £200 per month additional payment after probation, based on performance and company standards.
