A long-established, family-run specialist commercial roofing and external refurbishment contractor is looking to add a Pitched Roofing Contracts Supervisor to its project management team. Trading continuously since 1979 and working as Principal Contractor across London and the South East, the business delivers roof refurbishment and re-roofing works on existing, occupied buildings across education, industrial, healthcare, heritage, residential block and public sector projects. This role is site-based across London and the South of England, focused on overseeing the technical installation of pitched roofing projects including slating and tiling. You will support the Contracts Manager from start to finish, making sure quality, health and safety and programme are managed thoroughly on every job. The role would also suit an experienced Roofing Manager or Technical Manager looking for a long-term position with a stable, well-respected specialist. The pipeline of future projects is extremely healthy, and the business is looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of pitched roofing systems who can hit the ground running. Pitched Roofing Contracts Supervisor Salary & Benefits Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 (DOE) Company Car or Car Allowance (depending on experience) 25 Days Annual Leave Plus Bank Holidays Flexible Working Where Possible Pension Contribution Minimum 20 Hours of External Training Every Year Wellbeing Allowance, Gym Discounts, Retail Discount Packages and Cycle to Work Scheme Quarterly Events and Team Activities Long-term, permanent position with genuine progression opportunities Pitched Roofing Contracts Supervisor Job Overview Oversee the technical installation of pitched roofing projects across London and the South of England Monitor, inspect and report on site teams to ensure quality compliance Ensure the highest standards of quality and health and safety across all projects, producing, implementing and following all relevant documentation Carry out site inductions and toolbox talks for direct labour and subcontractors Assist with site set up and take down, supporting the wider project management team in delivery Attend site meetings with clients, building surveyors and subcontractors Manage the professional execution of each contract from receipt of order to completion, familiarising yourself with the specification, Construction Phase Plan and programme Assist with project planning including subcontractor allocation, logistical set up and programme Monitor progress daily, think ahead and resolve issues before they affect the project Identify and advise on any variations or unforeseen works in good time Accurately measure and record completed work to support applications for payment and subcontractor sign-off Maintain site records including weekly H&S, quality and scaffold inspections, site visit reports and toolbox talks Visit and inspect sites to make sure the works meet client needs, codes of practice and the company's offer Pitched Roofing Contracts Supervisor Requirements Robust experience in pitched roof refurbishment, ideally within a Principal Contractor or specialist roofing environment Excellent technical knowledge of pitched roofing systems including slating and tiling, and their installation requirements Practical understanding of health and safety within construction Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Well organised, well presented and articulate Ambitious and driven, seeking a long-term role Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel Full, clean UK driving licence What Makes This Opportunity Different?
