Job Overview:
- Set and operate Manual Lathes
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, verniers, calipers, etc.
- Monitor feed and speed of manufacturing machinery
- Measure and record build tolerances and determine parts that require repair
- Self‑inspect your own work with hand tools
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in setting and operating Manual Lathes
- Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Either time served or City and Guilds qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Familiarity with health and safety standards; any H&S qualifications would be a bonus
- Based within a commutable distance of Sheffield
- Full UK driving licence
Salary & Benefits:
- £16.12 per hour
- Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 16:30, Friday 8:00 – 15:30 (39 hour week)
- 33 days holiday inclusive
