An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bookkeeper within a growing accountancy practice based in Horsham. This practice boasts an excellent culture and offers fantastic flexibility with a fully remote model. They are seeking a bookkeeper who is detail-oriented and experienced in working with clients, establishing strong relationships, and delivering a consistent service.
This practice currently has 15 members of staff and is looking to double this within the coming years. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to further their career within an exciting practice.
Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities:- Process purchase and sales invoices, maintaining accurate financial records within Xero and QuickBooks Online.
- Manage client inboxes, financial documentation, and respond promptly to client, supplier, and internal queries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare supplier payment schedules and support effective cash flow management for clients.
- Administer Dext/Receipt Bank, process expenses, and ensure compliance with HMRC guidelines.
- Assist with payroll processing, including timesheets, pension administration, and new starter/leaver documentation.
- Support VAT returns, management accounts preparation, and year-end audit requirements while ensuring VAT compliance.
- Monitor debtor reports, chase outstanding payments, and help clients improve credit control processes.
- Previous Bookkeeping experience within practice is preferred.
- AAT Level 2-3 is ideal but not essential.
- Should have a strong working knowledge of VAT rules and an understanding of payroll processes.
- Confident IT skills including Xero, QBO, Receipt Bank, and Dext are preferable.
- Excellent organisation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Paying from £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience.
- Fully remote model is available - the team gets together once a quarter within the Horsham office.
