An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering environment working on bespoke, high-end classic and performance vehicles.
Working closely with an experienced restoration and engineering team, you will be involved in a variety of hands-on engineering and project-based activities, supporting the design, restoration, modification and development of bespoke vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate looking to develop their engineering career within a highly specialised and practical environment, working on unique projects where no two vehicles are necessarily the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the design and development of bespoke vehicle components and assemblies.
- Producing and modifying engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Working closely with the restoration team to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Assisting with full vehicle restoration and upgrade projects.
- Supporting the introduction and improvement of new machinery and equipment.
- Providing engineering input into ongoing projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Working alongside experienced engineers and technicians to understand manufacturing and installation requirements.
- Helping identify opportunities to improve processes, equipment and engineering methods.
- Carrying out technical investigations and resolving engineering problems.
- Supporting project planning, documentation and general engineering activities.
- Working hands-on with the wider engineering and restoration team where required.
About You
The successful candidate will be a recently qualified or soon-to-be-qualified Mechanical Engineering graduate with a genuine interest in practical engineering and mechanical design.
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- An interest in automotive, mechanical engineering, restoration or bespoke engineering.
- Some experience using CAD software through university, placement or previous employment.
- A practical, hands-on approach to engineering.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- The ability to interpret and produce technical drawings.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with engineers, technicians and other members of the team.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist engineering environment.
