We are currently recruiting for a talented Fire Engineer to join an Industry leading, multidisciplinary consultancy based in Peterborough. Our client is an award-winning multidisciplinary practice that are recognised to be industry leaders that work with a variety of Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Developers, commercial portfolio holders and residential management companies providing Fire Engineering services. Chartered Building Surveyors who are looking for a career path into Fire Engineering are also encouraged to apply, as our client is receptive in their search. The Practice has been providing Fire Engineering services for a number of years and have a strong desire to further develop their fire engineering team to further support their multidisciplinary offering. The candidate will be relied upon to help promote the practice and continue to develop and maintain client relationships. Limited travel will be expected within our region to fulfil the requirements of the role and the diverse range of work. This role is suitable for an experienced Fire Engineer looking for a change and working in a fast past environment. Fire Engineer Position Overview Able to work as part of a team, checking and authorising fire engineering work prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines Ability to successfully lead on and manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner Management of projects from inception to completion Client facing position – ensuring high standards of technical delivery Producing Fire engineering reports on design projects for architectural and building services engineering teams Working with 30+ strong building surveying team undertaking EWS1/FRAEW surveysFire Engineer Position Requirements Degree in Fire Engineering or a suitable equivalent undergraduate or postgraduate qualification or Chartered Building Surveyor Strong knowledge of UK legislation, standards and regulations, for example, BS9999, RRFSO, PAS79, PAS7, BS7974 and Building Regulations as well as knowledge of other regulatory regimes Have experience of undertaking EWS1 survey reports / FRAEW\’s; Understanding of the DLUHC guidelines regarding external wall systems along with the Building Regulations, or the ability to learn this very quickly Experience of undertaking fire risk assessments across a variety of property types ranging from education, residential, healthcare, industrial and commercial; Experience of fire integrity / compartmentation surveys to identify breaches, proposed remedial repairs through to preparation of specification and design; Full UK Licence and access to a vehicle for travel Fire Engineer Position Remuneration Competitive salary (£70,000 – £90,000 DOE) Payment of relevant Professional Subscription memberships Excellent hybrid working policy Private Healthcare Up to 27 day holiday plus bank holidays with the option of holiday buying or selling Enhanced pension contributions Enhanced family friendly benefits Join a growing consultancy with excellent progression opportunities Regular and committed training and CPD opportunities Generous Car Allowance (where applicable) Excellent enhanced pension scheme Enhanced sick pay scheme (including long term sickness insurance) Other company benefits to be discussed at interview stage Bennett & Game Recruitment are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
