A Site Manager is required for a leading drylining contractor to oversee a £3 million drylining package on a major £80 million student accommodation development in Exeter. The project is expected to run for approximately 2 years and forms part of a strong pipeline of upcoming work across the Southwest.
This role would suit an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in drylining, capable of managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Site Manager Job Overview- Manage day-to-day site operations on a large-scale student accommodation project.
- Coordinate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors to ensure programme targets are achieved.
- Monitor quality, health & safety, and compliance across all drylining works.
- Maintain site documentation including progress reports, RFIs, variations, and site diaries.
- Liaise closely with the Principal Contractor, consultants, and wider project team.
- Produce short-term programmes and monitor progress against project milestones.
- Support and mentor site teams while maintaining strong working relationships on site.
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent.
- SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and First Aid certification.
- Strong drylining experience with excellent technical understanding of systems and specifications.
- Previous experience managing large-scale construction projects.
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures and site reporting systems.
- Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience.
- Quarterly discretionary bonus scheme, discussed at interview stage.
