Our client, a growing Quantity Surveying and Estimating consultancy based in Ware, is seeking an experienced estimator to join their expanding team. Specialising in providing expert estimating and commercial support services, they work on projects ranging from £250k to £10M across groundworks, refurbishment, fit-out, and design & build sectors. With a current team of 16 and ambitious plans to grow by 25% year on year, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a business with a clear vision for the future.
Estimator Position Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £40k - £80k DOE
- Paid holiday - increasing with service

Estimator Position Overview
- Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects
- Analysing drawings, specifications, and project details to compile pricing submissions
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and ensure competitive bids
- Reviewing tender documentation to assess risks, opportunities, and commercial viability
- Supporting clients with estimating, tendering, and procurement strategies
- Providing cost planning advice and value engineering solutions
- Managing and maintaining cost databases for accurate benchmarking and forecasting
Estimator Position Requirements
- Experience as an estimator within a consultancy or contracting environment
- Strong knowledge of estimating principles across various sectors including groundworks, refurbishment, fit-out, and D&B
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites when required
