Our client, an ambitious and growing General Contractor, are seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from their office in the Portsmouth area. They deliver a varied portfolio of projects ranging from £100,000 to £3 million in value across the South of England, covering refurbishment, small works and new build schemes. The role offers a blend of pre construction estimating and post contract commercial management, supporting the smooth financial delivery of multiple projects.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 DOE

Role Overview
- Prepare estimates, tenders and pricing documents for projects up to £3 million
- Carry out detailed take offs, measurement and cost planning
- Support procurement, analysing subcontractor quotations and assisting with selection
- Prepare bills of quantities and schedules of rates
- Provide commercial support during live projects including valuations, variations and cost reporting
- Assist in the agreement of final accounts
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- Travel to sites across the South as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or similar commercial role
- Background within a contractor environment
- Strong measurement, cost control and commercial reporting skills
- Ability to prepare accurate tenders, valuations and contractual documentation
- Confident communicator with good commercial awareness
- Full driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South
