Our client, a well-established and professional geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering consultancy, is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Exeter. With a successful track record in providing high-quality technical advice and solutions across various sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic and expanding company. The role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of projects for public and private sector clients, expanding your expertise in ground investigations and geotechnical analysis. The position will involve a mix of site-based supervision of geotechnical investigations, alongside office-based tasks for analysis and reporting. Projects are primarily based in Southern England, with a focus on the South West and South Coast. Job Overview
- Conduct pre-commencement desk study research and report preparation.
- Supervise and carry out ground investigations, including soil and rock logging to industry standards.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Prepare samples and schedule laboratory testing.
- Produce site logs, data, and contribute to factual and interpretive reports.
- Adhere to the company's health, safety, welfare, quality, and environmental policies.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Job Requirements
- A degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is advantageous).
- SSSTS & CSCS qualification and relevant health and safety training.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical/engineering geology roles.
- A strong desire to pursue CPD and work towards professional chartership (CGeol, CEng, CSci).
- Basic IT, literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and liaise effectively with clients.
