Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer required for a corrugated packaging manufacturer based in Ely. The candidate will need to be electrically and mechanically skilled and live within a commutable distance.
Responsibilities & Expected Skills
- Experience in corrugated packaging, paper, FMCG or high-speed production environments (preferred)
- Strong fault-finding and repair skills across:
- Electrical systems (3-phase motors, inverters, sensors, control panels)
- Mechanical systems (bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics)
Requirements
- Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering
- Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / BTEC or equivalent)
- Electrical certification (e.g. 18th Edition or equivalent) desirable
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC diagrams
Shift Pattern & Working Hours
- Double days, rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: Monday‑Thursday 06:00‑14:00, Friday 05:00‑12:00
- Week 2: Monday‑Thursday 14:00‑22:00, Friday 12:00‑19:00
