Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 DOE
Our client is a well-established manufacturer of precision engineered components, supplying products into highly regulated industries. Due to continued investment in manufacturing technology, they are seeking a Production Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer or an ambitious graduate/junior engineer looking to develop their career within advanced manufacturing.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on automation projects, CNC machining processes, CAD/CAM development and continuous improvement initiatives, with support and training available for the right individual.
Production Engineer Position Overview- Support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, machining operations and automation solutions.
- Research new manufacturing technologies and assist with the introduction of improved processes and equipment.
- Support CAPEX projects, including equipment reviews, cost-benefit analysis and implementation.
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures and workholding solutions to improve production efficiency.
- Generate CAD models, assemblies and technical drawings using appropriate design software.
- Support CAD/CAM programming activities and prove out machining processes.
- Assist with new product introduction, process development and technical problem-solving.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement activities focused on quality, cost reduction and efficiency.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet required quality and safety standards.
- Engineering qualification (Degree/HNC/HND) or relevant manufacturing experience.
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, CNC machining or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, CAD/CAM or automation would be advantageous.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks is desirable.
- Good problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers and customers.
- A willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical skills.
- Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100 or IATF/TS16949 would be beneficial but not essential.
- Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Monday to Thursday working pattern with an early finish on Fridays.
- 26 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
