Location: Arundel, West Sussex

Salary: £20.00 - £23.00 per hour, depending on experience

Additional £5.00 per hour shift premium for nights and weekend shifts

Working Hours: Flexible shift patterns available; day, night and weekend shifts available; shift premium paid on applicable shifts.

The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist / Miller / Programmer to join a highly specialised manufacturing business supporting the motorsport and high-performance engineering sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in the machining of complex, high-value carbon fibre components, working with advanced 5-axis milling machinery in a dual running and programming capacity. This position offers the opportunity to work on precision-engineered components where accuracy, attention to detail and technical capability are critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set, operate and programme 5-axis CNC milling machines
  • Manufacture complex carbon fibre components to tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Create and modify CNC programmes using Heidenhain controls
  • Support offline programming activities using VISI and Hypermill software where required
  • Conduct machine set-ups, prove-outs and first-off inspections
  • Monitor machining operations to ensure quality, efficiency and consistency
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications
  • Work with high-value components and materials where precision is critical
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimise machining performance
  • Support the introduction and commissioning of new machinery and manufacturing technologies
  • Maintain accurate production records and adhere to quality procedures
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve machining challenges
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality and safety standards

What We Need From You:

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Machinist or CNC Programmer
  • Strong experience setting and operating CNC milling machinery
  • Experience programming Heidenhain-controlled machines
  • Experience working with 5-axis machining centres
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of machining activities
  • Experience machining complex and high-value components
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude

Desirable:

  • Experience with Hermle 5-axis machining centres
  • Experience with Zimmermann milling machines
  • Experience using VISI and/or Hypermill offline programming software
  • Experience machining carbon fibre components
  • Motorsport, aerospace, automotive or high-performance engineering background
  • Experience supporting new machine introduction and process development activities

Working Pattern & Location: Flexible shift patterns are available, including day, night and weekend shifts. Standard interview hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:30. This is a site-based position located in Arundel, West Sussex.
