A Senior Architectural Technologist is required for an award-winning, design-led interior architecture practice specialising in luxury hotels, hospitality and commercial environments across the UK and internationally. With a growing team across London and Manchester and a newly established international office in New York, the practice is entering an exciting phase of growth while continuing to deliver distinctive, experiential spaces for high-profile clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to take a key role in transforming ambitious interior concepts into technically resolved, buildable environments. Working closely with Directors, interior designers, consultants and contractors, you will lead technical delivery from design development through to completion, oversee junior team members and help drive quality and consistency across the studio. With projects spanning the UK, Europe, Middle East and North America, the position offers excellent international exposure and the opportunity to influence technical standards as the practice continues to grow.

Job Overview

  • Lead the technical delivery of complex hotel, hospitality and commercial interior projects.
  • Develop projects through RIBA Stages 3-6, translating design concepts into coordinated and buildable solutions.
  • Produce detailed technical and construction drawing packages, CAD models and bespoke joinery information.
  • Work closely with the Interior Design team to ensure technical solutions maintain the original design intent.
  • Coordinate information across consultants, contractors, suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
  • Ensure technical information complies with UK Building Regulations, construction standards and project requirements.
  • Attend site meetings, undertake inspections and resolve technical issues throughout construction.
  • Lead technical reviews and quality control of project documentation.
  • Mentor and manage junior members of the technical design team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards, documentation and studio workflows.
  • Travel to project sites across the UK and internationally when required.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience delivering technically complex interior architecture projects from design development through to construction.
  • Previous experience delivering high-quality hotel or hospitality projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical detailing, construction methods, materials and bespoke joinery.
  • Advanced AutoCAD skills are essential, with Revit/BIM experience highly advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction standards.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring junior technical team members.
  • Strong quality control skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a fast-paced, design-led environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
  • Chartered status or relevant professional accreditation would be advantageous.
