We are representing a well‐established and growing engineering firm in Chesterfield that designs, manufactures, installs, and services bespoke lifting and handling equipment. Following a recent expansion into multi‐directional forklift trucks, this company is looking to grow its workshop‐based engineering team and offers an excellent opportunity for a Forklift Service Engineer.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in mechanical or industrial engineering, even if you haven’t worked on forklifts before, as full training will be provided. You will be based in the workshop, maintaining, servicing, and repairing forklifts and lifting equipment, supporting both internal operations and workshop projects.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain forklifts and lifting equipment within the workshop
- Perform preventative maintenance and thorough examinations
- Work in accordance with issued RAMS and company procedures
- Support the parts team by ensuring correct stock and ordering components
- Assist with workshop organisation and ensure work meets the company’s high standards
- Strong mechanical background and solid diagnostic skills
- Experience with industrial, agricultural, or engineering machinery is desirable
- Knowledge of hydro‐electrical systems is a plus
- Computer literate and confident with diagnostic tools
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Based within a commutable distance of Chesterfield
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different machinery
- £15.00 – £16.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Plenty of overtime available
- 39‐hour week, Monday to Friday (no weekends)
