Transport Manager Position Overview
- Oversee daily transport operations, including routing, vehicle allocation, and delivery performance
- Work closely with planning, warehouse teams, and external transport partners to maintain smooth operations
- Drive cost-effective transport decisions and support route optimisation
- Lead, coach, and develop the driver team to maintain high standards
- Monitor fleet performance and ensure vehicle maintenance, servicing, and compliance
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, tachograph rules, and health & safety standards
- Manage driver training, holidays, and resource planning
- Maintain accurate fleet, driver, and compliance records
- Support continuous improvement through reporting, analysis, and performance reviews
Transport Manager Requirements
- Previous experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport operations role
- Strong knowledge of transport compliance, legislation, and health & safety
- CPC qualification (essential)
- Good organisational and time-management abilities
- Experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office
