Our client, a multi-disciplinary UK wide Consultancy with 350 staff and a £30 million turnover, who are in a growth period are looking for a Structural Engineer to be based from their office in Manchester with Hybrid working options.

The Structural Engineer will be providing support to the local and national Engineering teams on a wide range of projects, including:

  • Structural surveys and preparation of reports
  • Calculations, design and preparation of drawings for residential, commercial and industrial properties
  • Providing advice to the insurance sector
  • Assisting with regional frameworks

The Ideal Structural Engineer will preferably have 2+ years post graduate experience within a Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy Environment. The Structural Engineer will have a good working knowledge of construction methods, materials and building regulations with ambition, drive and passion for the sector.

Position Remuneration:

  • Salary: up to £36,000 DOE
  • Holiday 25 days plus BH increasing with service
  • Chartership support and mentoring - IstructE or ICE
  • Pension 7.5% employer contribution
  • 37.5 hours per week

Position Overview:

  • Structural Reports
  • Structural design calculations and preparation of drawings
  • Flood damage surveys
  • Provide technical advice to clients
  • Producing CAD Drawings
  • Involved in obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval
  • Site inspections and client visits
  • Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
  • Administering contracts and managing projects
  • Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of each project

Position Requirements:

  • Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering or similar discipline - accredited by IstructE or ICE (1st or 2:1 preferred)
  • 2 years' experience working as a Graduate Engineer
  • Experience of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning
  • Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets
  • Problem solver
  • Keen to progress quickly and gain chartership with IstructE or ICE
  • UK Driving Licence + Car
