A long-established and respected UK-based engineering business is expanding its team due to continued growth and increasing demand. Specializing in bespoke automation, robotics integration, and special purpose machinery, this company is seeking a Robotics & Controls Engineer who is hands-on, proactive, and aligned with a high-integrity, high-commitment team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and programming PLC, HMI/touchscreen, network and SCADA systems from scratch
  • Designing, programming and integrating industrial robotic solutions (FANUC ideally but not essential)
  • Work collaboratively on bespoke automation and robotic integration projects.
  • Developing control architectures and functional solutions in collaboration with mechanical and electrical design teams
  • Perform in-house build and test activities, with periodic travel for commissioning and support (UK & North America).

Requirements

  • Be able to write complex software from scratch for Allen Bradley Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal.
  • Be able to design/programme/integrate industrial robotic solutions, such as and ideally FANUC
  • Industrial control systems and networks, including EtherNet/IP and PROFINET
  • Valid British or EU passport - able to travel freely to the USA/Canada.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally for short stints (up to two weeks at a time) as needed per project.
