An established and growing multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding team. Working across a diverse portfolio of projects within the education and healthcare sectors, the consultancy delivers professional cost management, project management, contract administration and employer's agent services on refurbishment, new build and infrastructure schemes. Job Overview
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of a wide range of construction projects from inception through to completion. You will provide cost planning, procurement advice, contract administration and financial management while working closely with clients, contractors and design teams. Projects include new build developments, refurbishments, M&E upgrades, cladding and window replacement programmes, fire safety improvements and infrastructure works across the public sector. The successful candidate will also support project delivery through employer's agent and contract administration duties where required, whilst mentoring junior team members and contributing to the continued growth of the consultancy.
Job Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
- Previous consultancy experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of cost planning, procurement and contract administration
- Experience preparing cost estimates, tender documentation and final accounts
- Good understanding of standard forms of construction contract
- Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior surveyors is desirable
- MRICS qualified or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
