Our client is currently seeking a Multiskilled Nights Maintenance Engineer (mechanical bias preferred) to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing business, offering strong earning potential with overtime and a consistent night shift pattern.
Working as a key member of the engineering team, you will operate as a standalone shift engineer, ensuring the smooth running of all production machinery and equipment during night operations.
- Acting as a standalone shift engineer within the factory environment
- Carrying out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a range of food production machinery
- Proactively identifying potential issues and implementing preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
- Responding efficiently to breakdowns and technical issues during production hours
- Diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Supporting production teams to ensure minimal disruption and optimal output
- Monitoring machinery performance to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports
- Working in line with food safety, health & safety, and site regulations
- Ensuring all contractors adhere to site rules and safety standards
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or food production environment is required. A multiskilled engineer with a mechanical bias is preferred. Strong working knowledge of production machinery including conveyors, mixers, fillers, and packaging equipment is essential. The ability to fault find across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems is necessary.
Salary: £53,000 + overtime available. Overtime paid at enhanced rates (x1.25 weekdays, x1.5 Saturdays, x2 Sundays). 7-day fortnight rota with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Strong earning potential with regular overtime available. Full benefits package to be discussed.
