Bennett & Game are proud to be representing a well-established and growing civil engineering and infrastructure contractor in their search for a Business Application Manager to join their IT team based near Henfield. This is a key strategic and operational role, responsible for overseeing the organisation's business application portfolio, ensuring systems are secure, optimised, and aligned with wider business objectives. The Business Application Manager will play a pivotal role in driving governance, user adoption, and continuous improvement across a range of enterprise platforms, working closely with stakeholders across the business.

Job Overview
- Lead governance and operational management of business applications across the organisation
- Define and maintain role-based access controls and permission frameworks
- Ensure systems align with security standards including Cyber Essentials and wider compliance frameworks
- Support and coordinate DPIAs for new or updated systems
- Monitor system usage, performance, and adoption, providing data-led improvement recommendations
- Identify opportunities for optimisation, consolidation, and efficiency across platforms
- Promote strong data governance, quality, and information management practices
- Support IT service management processes including incident, request, and problem management
- Develop user guidance, training materials, and knowledge resources
- Establish and lead a Superuser Forum to drive engagement and continuous improvement
- Act as key liaison with software vendors and suppliers
- Support business change initiatives, ensuring successful system adoption
- Supervise and support application administrators
Requirements
- Proven experience managing or governing business applications within a corporate environment
- Experience designing and managing system access controls and permission structures
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and optimisation
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (e.g. Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001)
- Experience working with ITIL-aligned service management processes
- Experience supporting user adoption, training, or business change initiatives
- Familiarity with SaaS platforms and vendor-managed systems
- Understanding of backup, recovery, RPO and RTO principles
- Experience with platforms such as Procore, Microsoft 365, Business Central, HR systems or similar
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Ability to translate business needs into system improvements
