Our client is currently seeking a Multiskilled Nights Maintenance Engineer (mechanical bias preferred) to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing business, offering strong earning potential with overtime and a consistent night shift pattern.

Working as a key member of the engineering team, you will operate as a standalone shift engineer, ensuring the smooth running of all production machinery and equipment during night operations.

Job Overview
  • Acting as a standalone shift engineer within the factory environment
  • Carrying out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a range of food production machinery
  • Proactively identifying potential issues and implementing preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Responding efficiently to breakdowns and technical issues during production hours
  • Diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Supporting production teams to ensure minimal disruption and optimal output
  • Monitoring machinery performance to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports
  • Working in line with food safety, health & safety, and site regulations
  • Ensuring all contractors adhere to site rules and safety standards
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or food production environment
  • Multiskilled engineer with a mechanical bias - Preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of production machinery including conveyors, mixers, fillers, and packaging equipment
  • Ability to fault find across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and reliability-focused approach
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: £53,000 overtime available
  • Overtime paid at enhanced rates (x1.25 weekdays, x1.5 Saturdays, x2 Sundays)
  • Working hours: 6pm-6am, 7-day fortnight rota with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off
  • Strong earning potential with regular overtime available
