Position: Pre-Construction Manager Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire Salary: £70,000 - £100,000, open to discussion Bennett & Game are representing a well-established and highly regarded specialist joinery and interior fit out contractor who are seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to join their growing team. The business forms part of a successful and financially strong construction group with a turnover in excess of £175m. The specialist division delivers high-quality bespoke joinery, carpentry and interior fit out packages across London and the Home Counties, working on a range of complex and prestigious projects and benefiting from the backing, stability and pipeline of a larger construction group. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a broad and influential pre-construction role within a growing business. The position offers genuine variety, combining planning and programming, design coordination, team management and client interaction. The company are open-minded on background and job title and would welcome applications from experienced Pre-Construction Managers, Planners, Design Managers or Technical Managers who can bring the right construction knowledge, leadership ability and commercial awareness. Salary & Benefits Salary: £70,000 - £100,000, open to discussion depending on experience 21 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension scheme Private healthcare Permanent role with an ASAP start, although notice periods will be accommodated Office based in Borehamwood with travel to sites and client meetings across London and the Home CountiesPre-Construction Manager Position Overview Take ownership of planning and programming projects through tender and construction stages Produce and manage detailed project programmes using Asta Powerproject Manage and develop a team of four CAD Technicians within the pre-construction department Act as a key link between construction teams, clients and the internal design and CAD function Attend client and design meetings to understand project requirements and communicate these effectively to the wider team Present and explain project programmes to clients and project stakeholders Support design coordination and assist with resolving design and technical issues throughout the pre-construction process Consider construction methodology, sequencing, lead times and programme requirements when developing project plans Work closely with project and construction teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction into delivery Undertake regular site visits and attend meetings across London and the Home CountiesPre-Construction Manager Position Requirements Proven experience within pre-construction, planning, design management or technical management within the construction industry Strong programming experience, ideally using Asta Powerproject Experience managing or coordinating a design, technical or CAD team would be highly advantageous A background within joinery, carpentry, interior fit out or specialist subcontracting would be beneficial, although candidates from wider construction backgrounds will be considered Strong understanding of construction processes, design coordination and project delivery Ability to understand construction methodology, sequencing, lead times and programme requirements Confident client-facing individual with strong communication and presentation skills Experience with CAD, Navisworks, BIM, Procore or Fieldview would be advantageous but is not essential Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites and client meetings A proactive and capable individual who is comfortable taking ownership and developing within a broad, evolving role Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
