Bennett and Game are working with an established civil engineering and highways contractor with a strong regional presence seeking an experienced Civils Quantity Surveyor to join its Commercial Team. You will play a key role in managing financial control across multiple sites, protecting commercial interests and supporting the delivery of high-value infrastructure projects throughout the Northwest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing site measurements and weekly cost/production reports
  • Completing cost forecasts and commercial reporting
  • Liaising with site teams to assess and prepare quotations and estimates
  • Managing subcontractors (enquiries, orders, payment assessments)
  • Producing valuations and submitting to clients
  • Interpreting drawings and instructions, agreeing estimates with site teams and clients
  • Agreeing final accounts with all parties in a timely manner
  • Monitoring stock control and reporting to the Financial Director
  • Supporting finance/admin teams in account settlement
  • Assisting monthly and quarterly reporting preparation
  • Maintaining clear, accurate records and representing the business professionally at all times
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by management

Experience & Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Proven commercial experience within civil engineering (especially highways/structures)
  • Extensive experience with private and public sector clients
  • Solid working knowledge of NEC (mainly) and JCT contract forms
  • Excellent commercial awareness, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational ability and self-motivation
  • Proficiency in IT (MS Office, Outlook, measurement software)
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
  • People management skills and a collaborative approach within a team environment
