  • Acting as a primary senior point of contact for clients, managing day-to-day relationships, and delivering proactive business advice.
  • Leading, managing, and mentoring a team of accountants, conducting regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and supporting career development.
  • Overseeing team workflow, job allocations, and capacity management to ensure all compliance deadlines and internal target dates are met.
  • Working closely with Partners on complex advisory assignments, technical accounting queries, and practice management initiatives.
  • Maintaining technical excellence across the department, ensuring all work adheres to UK accounting standards and regulations.
  • Driving internal process improvements, client onboarding, and adoption of modern accounting technologies.
  • Assisting Partners with business development, client proposals, and expanding services to existing clients.

Requirements & Experience

  • ACA, ACCA qualified or equivalent; experienced QBE candidates with extensive practice leadership experience will also be considered.
  • Proven track record working in a Senior Accountant, Assistant Manager, or Manager capacity within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical expertise across UK GAAP, accounts preparation, and tax compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring, and managing junior and senior team members.
  • Experience managing client portfolios and acting as a trusted senior contact.
  • Proven ability to review accounts and tax files efficiently with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical financial matters clearly to non-finance clients.
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across a team.
  • A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional client service and supporting practice growth.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience and professional qualifications.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement plus statutory bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme and comprehensive employee benefits package.
