Position: Centre Lathe Turner
Location: Sheffield
Rate £16.93 (34,334.04 per annum)
Centre Lathe Turner required for a well-established specialist supplier of hydraulic and Electric Submersible Pumps. The successful Candidate will be undertaking Setting and Operating Manual Lathes. It is envisioned that the successful candidate will come from a background in Manual Machining with a strong level of turning experience, have completed a Mechanical apprenticeship and be based within a commutable distance of Sheffield.
Centre Lathe Turner Job Overview
- Set and operate Manual Lathes
- Calculator dimensions and tolerances using Micrometres, Vernier's, Callipers, etc.
- Monitor Feed and speed of manufacturing machinery
- Measuring and recording build tolerances and determine parts that require repair.
- Self-inspecting your own work with hand tools
Centre Lathe Turner Job Requirements
- Previous experience in the setting and operating of Manual Lathes
- Able to read and interpret Mechanical drawings
- Either Time served or City and Guilds qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Familiarity with Health and safety standards, any H&S qualifications would be a bonus
- Based within a commutable distance of Sheffield
- Full UK Driving licence

- Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 16:30 Friday 8:00 - 15:30,
- 39 hour week
- 33 days holiday inclusive of Bank holidays
