Buyer required. This is an excellent opportunity for a Buyer to join an expanding and successful business. The successful candidate will be joining a small purchasing team, and will have the opportunity to further develop their career.
Position Overview
- Researching and identifying potential suppliers
- Comparing and evaluating supplier quotations to ensure best value and suitability
- Negotiating commercial terms, pricing, and supply agreements
- Tracking purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services
- Reviewing the quality and suitability of purchased goods
- Entering supplier information, pricing, and stock details into the ERP system and maintaining accurate purchasing records
- Preparing cost analysis and procurement reports
- Monitoring stock levels and placing orders based on ERP-driven demand
- Contributing to the development and implementation of purchasing strategies
- Assessing supply-chain risks and supporting mitigation planning
- Working as part of a small purchasing team, supporting shared objectives and operational continuity
Position Requirements
- Proven purchasing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Confident user of MS Office and ERP/MRP software such as OrderWise, Sage, SAP, or similar
- Ability to understand technical drawings, manufacturing processes, and engineering
- Based in a commutable distance of Basingstoke
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Position Remuneration
- Salary: £30,000 - £33,000
- 5 hours per week. Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
- 30 days holiday, including bank holidays, increasing with tenure
