Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing high-level services in building surveying, project management, cost consultancy, fire safety, and construction oversight across England and Wales. With several offices across the UK, they are well established in delivering complex projects within the residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and student accommodation sectors. They are currently seeking an Associate Building Surveyor to join their London office due to continued growth.

The role offers a balanced workload across project-led and professional instructions, with a strong focus on project delivery. Typical projects include refurbishment schemes, façade remediation works, and major external and internal renovations ranging in value from £500k to £6m.

Job Overview
  • Delivering both project and advisory building surveying services
  • Acting as Contract Administrator and Lead Consultant across refurbishment, remedial, and maintenance works
  • Conducting core surveying duties such as defect diagnosis, reinstatement cost assessments, party wall matters, and planned maintenance programming
  • Managing multiple live projects concurrently (typically £500k - £6m)
  • Working closely with clients across the residential, education, and commercial sectors
  • Opportunity to lead a team of 4 surveyors (depending on experience)
  • Preparing and administering JCT contracts and other procurement routes
Job Requirements
  • MRICS qualified (highly advantageous)
  • Background in both professional and project-based building surveying
  • Strong technical knowledge of JCT contracts (NEC experience is a bonus)
  • Organised, client-focused, and commercially aware
