Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 per annum

Our client is a quality-focused engineering and manufacturing business seeking an Inspection Quality Engineer to join their existing team. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Quality or Inspection professional with a hands-on engineering background.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspection activities, supporting quality systems and ensuring products meet the required engineering and customer standards. The role would suit someone from a machining, assembly or inspection background who has practical inspection experience and is looking for a stable, structured position within a quality-driven manufacturing environment.

Position Overview:

  • Carry out inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, including first article and in-process inspection.
  • Read, interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Use a range of inspection and measurement equipment to verify component and product conformity.
  • Ensure inspection activities are completed accurately and in line with required quality standards and procedures.
  • Work in accordance with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Complete and maintain inspection documentation, certificates and quality reports.
  • Support document control activities, ensuring inspection records and quality documentation are accurate and maintained.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify and address quality issues.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and ensure products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail and continuous quality improvement.
  • Undertake additional external training where required to further develop technical expertise, including calibration-related courses.

Position Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience within a Quality or Inspection role.
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of inspection equipment, quality systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Practical, hands-on inspection experience within a machining, assembly or similar engineering environment.
  • Understanding of first article and in-process inspection.
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused approach.
  • Good computer literacy, particularly for document control, inspection reports and certification.

Remuneration:

  • Salary £36,000 - £39,000 per annum - depending on experience.
  • Monday to Thursday with an early finish on Friday - 39 hour working week.
  • Friday finish at 1:15pm.
  • Overtime available at 1.3x basic hourly rate during the week.
  • Weekend overtime paid at 1.5x basic hourly rate.
  • 25 days holiday per year, with some holiday allocation taken over the Christmas period.
