This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Hatchery Manager to run a small private hatchery, dedicated to supporting and enhancing wild salmon populations within a well-managed private estate. The successful candidate will bring proven experience in hatchery operations, with a strong understanding of salmon biology and life cycles, supported by either professional practice or academic study. This is a hands-on role requiring both operational oversight and day-to-day management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and managing hatchery operations throughout the annual cycle
- Monitoring fish health, water quality, and environmental conditions
- Ensuring best practice in line with relevant environmental and fisheries guidance
- Maintenance and upkeep of all hatchery facilities and equipment
- Leading initiatives to support and improve wild salmon stocks
