An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Telecoms Project Engineer to join a leading organisation delivering complex rail infrastructure projects across the UK. This role will suit a driven engineer with a strong background in rail telecommunications who is ready to take ownership of project delivery from design through to completion. This can be a home-based role with weekly presence in Glasgow (1-2 days).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead telecoms engineering activities across multiple rail projects, ensuring technical compliance and quality standards are achieved.
  • Provide technical assurance and review of designs in accordance with Network Rail and industry standards.
  • Support project managers in delivering works safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Interface with signalling, power, and civil engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and oversee subcontractor performance.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and engineering deliverables.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in telecoms engineering within the UK rail industry (operational comms, FTN, GSM-R, fibre networks, CCTV, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and assurance processes.
  • Experience leading engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent stakeholder and interface management skills.
  • Chartered or working towards professional registration (IET or equivalent).
