We are seeking a highly motivated Isolations Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Isolation and OLE resources across a diverse portfolio of rail projects. This is a varied role that combines operational delivery, resource management, client liaison and business development, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time while maintaining the highest safety and performance standards.
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, you will be responsible for managing the effective coordination, supply and utilisation of Isolation and OLE personnel, ensuring all resources are deployed safely, efficiently and in line with client requirements. You will also support isolation planning activities, lead workforce planning, undertake on-call duties and contribute to the continued growth of the department through excellent client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the safe and efficient deployment of Isolation and OLE personnel.
- Produce and maintain 4-week and 12-week resource plans.
- Liaise with clients, Network Rail and internal planning teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Allocate weekly shifts and confirm workforce availability.
- Ensure workforce competencies remain compliant and training requirements are planned.
- Monitor workforce utilisation and maximise resource efficiency.
- Conduct safety inspections, investigations and performance reviews.
- Produce weekly and monthly operational reports.
- Support time sheet approvals and resolve payroll queries.
- Deputise for the Head of Delivery and Isolation Planner when required.
- Participate in the company on-call rota.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business growth.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance.
About You
You'll be an experienced rail professional with excellent organisational, planning and leadership skills, capable of working in a fast-paced operational environment.
Essential Requirements
- Current Network Rail Sentinel competencies including:
- Nominated Person
- SSOW Planner
- Isolation Planner
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar rail delivery role.
- Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and safe systems of work.
- Experience managing operational resources and workforce planning.
- Excellent client management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience carrying out safety inspections and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
