We are recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager / Senior Bid Manager to join its South Region Pre-Contracts team. This is a key role for a strategic and commercially aware professional who is passionate about winning work within the rail and civil engineering sectors. You will play a pivotal role in shaping work-winning strategy, leading high-quality bid submissions, and supporting regional growth across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage bid submissions from opportunity identification through to final tender submission
- Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs from estimating, commercial, planning, and delivery teams
- Develop compelling, compliant, and high-quality PQQs and tender responses
- Write, edit, and review technical and narrative content to ensure clarity and impact
- Chair tender progress meetings and manage submission programmes and deadlines
- Work closely with Regional Directors and senior stakeholders to pursue new opportunities
- Analyse client feedback and support continuous improvement of bid processes
- Contribute to post-tender reviews and lessons learned
- Support the development of work-winning tools, templates, and best practice
About You
You will be an organised and proactive bid professional with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach. Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Bid Manager or Senior Bid Manager within rail or civil engineering
- Strong understanding of civil engineering projects and delivery environments
- Excellent written, editing, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities under pressure
- Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills
- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent)
