We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established rail infrastructure organisation for an experienced Compliance & Quality Manager to join their growing HSQE team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional who thrives in a highly regulated environment and is passionate about driving quality, assurance and continuous improvement across complex rail and construction projects.

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll take ownership of the company's Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring compliance with industry legislation, client requirements and internationally recognised management standards.

This is a varied and influential role where you'll lead the organisation's compliance and quality strategy, maintaining key accreditations while supporting operational teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently and in full compliance with industry standards. You'll become the subject matter expert for quality assurance, ISO standards, RISQS and audit management, helping the business maintain its reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and maintaining the company's Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Managing ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification and surveillance audits
  • Taking ownership of RISQS accreditation and Principal Contractor compliance
  • Planning and delivering internal, supplier and client audits
  • Managing non-conformances, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining quality policies, procedures and documentation
  • Producing compliance reports, KPIs and management information for senior leadership
  • Supporting project teams by developing Project Quality Management Plans (QMPs)
  • Monitoring changes in legislation and ensuring business compliance
  • Managing supplier assurance processes and approved supplier performance
  • Delivering training and guidance to promote a strong compliance and quality culture across the business

About You

Our client is looking for someone who has significant experience within the rail, construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors and enjoys working collaboratively with operational teams while maintaining robust compliance standards. You'll ideally have:

  • Extensive experience managing Quality and Compliance Management Systems
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Experience managing RISQS accreditation and audit processes
  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • Experience undertaking internal, supplier and external audits
  • Knowledge of Network Rail standards and assurance requirements
  • Experience supporting Principal Contractor responsibilities
  • Understanding of Sentinel and rail assurance systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
